Emancipation

Soul Snack 192/11 ... Emancipation

Gratitude is not so much found where there is abundance -- gratitude is more often found when abundance is absent.

I think of a humble widow of no means who gave a mite, a woman of ill-repute who loved her Lord with nard worth an annual wage and an Apostle of apostles who knew what it was to thank God in all circumstances.

The very nature of ingratitude is enslaving because that which is worthy of thanks is unable to be seen.

The very nature of gratitude is liberating for no-longer will ingratitude rule.

Sometimes people may have to climb over a mountain of ingratitude to see the thankworthy but at the summit the view will always be crystal clear.

The highest form of giving is thanksgiving. Brennan Manning

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thess 5:18)
