Of Frosts & Faith

Soul Snack 80/12 ... Of Frosts & Faith

This looked like a light dusting of early season snow but it was not; the first frost of fall had silently alighted overnight. Outside my lounge window was an evergreen turf -farm adorned in pure white. With all the green obscured it whispered invitations to the local Hans Brinkers.

My wife's black Ford sedan too had been re-painted with divine brushes that early morning in a transitory two-tone white duco with a white hood, roof-top and trunk. Yep, white can even cover black.

In an outrageous act of hitherto unknown kindness the white of Christ's righteousness is now also my mantle; it is the clothing I wear. His righteousness has slipped onto my shoulders and hung down to my toes. The black of my sin shines no more.

Jesus has clothed every Christian in a radiant, eye-blinding white as He did the turf-farm that cold and clear fall morning; BUT this white will never fade away.

Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy .He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. (Rev 3:4-5)
