Jesus still enters storms

Soul Snack 154/12 ... Jesus still enters storms

The swells roll, waves thunder, and water drenches as the gales of life return with a varying fierceness. The ever restless waters of life conspire against peace and absent harmony from the present.

The darkness of the night, the persistence of dis-ease and the fear of the storm magnify each creaky timber in life's boat. There are seasons in all lives where storms gather with little relent and a frequently present reality.

Yet He who has walked upon the earth has also walked upon the water!

He whose feet stirred the dust of Gethsemane also quelled the Sea of Galilee.

He who walked into storms 2000 years ago, still walks into storms today.

Amidst a furious squall Peter heard His invitation, saw His outstretched arm and too walked on water.

There is no need to tread water in life's storm; Jesus' hand remains outstretched and as with Peter He invites you too to walk on water and then find the storm quelled.

Jesus no more wants you to drown than you want to walk on water. It takes that first step out of the boat to learn you won't sink.

There is no storm too wild, no sea too tempestuous or night too black for Jesus to enter.

Faith is hearing and seeing Jesus in storms and then choosing to walk to Him without any visible means of support. The storm does not die until you step out of the boat.

Peer through the storm and pop out of the boat for peace from His outstretched arm.

For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you. 'do not fear; I will help you'. (Is 41:13)
