Merciful, Merciful is my Father#

A shattered man re-scripts life through the mercy of Heaven, confirmed by the approving love of Calvary.

The Gospel was much more than words or creeds. It was the goodness of God in action. It was the compassion and mercy of God, who has seen the mess of our lives and has groaned for us over and over.

God has one intent, to have mercy on us and heal us; to restore us and make us whole. If we are honest many of us wrestle with this.

There were all the demands of trying to present myself as a whole person when I was broken inside.

Merciful, merciful is my Father. When I don't want to look in the mirror, He still gazes at my face with an acceptance clothed in joy. When others speak ill of me, He speaks well of me. Such grace - He is not ashamed to be known as my Father, to own me as His child.

Long before I could have pleased Him or sought to influence Him, on Calvary's hill He publicly owned loved and valued me.

It is when you know you are forgiven you find yourself forgiving others. It is when you know you are approved you find yourself approving others. AND it is when you know you are loved you find yourself able to love others.#

We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
