Missing Dawn!

Soul Snack 182/14 ... Sweeping with a tiresome regularity across each man are life's changes and chances.

There are days of joy and days of sadness.

There are days of mercy and days of punishment.

There are days of health and days of misery.

Let each man plan well for his tomorrow but live in his today. Who even knows if he will be spared for his plans or if he will gain his tomorrow?

All of mankind should sit in a sober soul-searching judgement:

  • before their eyes fail and breath shortens,
  • before prosperity is lost and friends pass on,
  • before the lights grow dim and the sun sets ... to examine their life under God.

Seek righteousness this day as tomorrow's sunrise is not promised.

Remember him—before the silver cord is severed,
   or the golden bowl is broken;
before the pitcher is shattered at the spring,
   or the wheel broken at the well,
and the dust returns to the ground it came from,
   and the spirit returns to God who gave it. (Ecclesiastes 12:6-7)

The only guarantee secure to a man's tomorrows is that he will miss one dawn, and be ushered into God's presence.

Today's Soul Snippet:

The more God has for you the harder the devil strives against you.
