Of Sealed Tombs, Minds & Hearts

Jesus is dead, so proud men now make more foolish decisions.

They went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard. (Matthew 27:6)

Men may fill the tomb, but they can't keep it full.

This was insolence, an unmitigated arrogance.

Only pure ignorance could entertain the thought of placing a guard on God.

Utter foolishness believed it could confine God within the very ground He had created.

A sealed boulder could no more jail its creator than man could kill God.

Have you ever wondered why there are so many opposite opinions of God?

Proud men still make foolish decisions. Their minds and hearts still lock God out.

A sealed mind can no more grasp God than a sealed tomb can hold Jesus.

There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. (Matthew 28:2)

Men have blindly imprisoned God in their hearts, suppressed His truth. Jesus is entombed afresh. But:

the created can never contain the Creator. Earthquakes arrive.

For all those who would see the eternal resurrection, travel alongside the risen Jesus, the stone across the heart must be rolled away.

The Father often rolls stones through life's earthquakes.
