Struck by The Sword

Soul Snack 105/14 ... An unrestrained personal confrontation is the Bible's DNA. It accosts the wayward soul while opposing the sinful spirit.

The Bible declares war on evil, and pierces the sinner's heart.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

The Bible is not for the lily-livered, the chicken-spirited, the weak-kneed, the limp-wristed or the feeble-hearted.

It is not a book of peace; the Bible is a book for warriors. It does not surrender or retreat.

'Do you think I came to bring peace upon earth? No, I tell you, but division.' (Luke 12:51)

The Bible is God's declaration of independence to a mankind that reshapes Him in their image.

It is not a book of compromise, committees, clouded commands and murky guidance.

The Bible is both abrupt and clear.

It cannot be whitewashed, tempered, tampered with, or bludgeoned into submission.

The Bible is a strong book of hard truths. It takes no captives and holds no prisoners.

The Bible is not diatribe or doggerel.

It is not to be sneered at, sneezed at, added to or diluted.

The Bible cannot be emptied and is never stale.

It stirs the heart, seizes the reader, lifts the spirit, strengthens the faint, and affirms the downtrodden.

The Bible is daily a sweet manna to delight the soul.

BUT...

it is never a bag full of trail mix where only the choice pieces may be tasted.
