An Addicted Jesus

Soul Snack 88/11 ... An Addicted Jesus

Extravagant (and errant) lifestyles are injected into our attention daily. Charlie Sheen is surely a contemporary example, with his failed demands for a pay-check of $3.5 million per episode of Two and a Half Men. Charlie's demands have now cost him his TV show and maybe so much more.

Extravagance is the playing field of the rich. It becomes the consuming lifestyle of the countless addicted to self indulgence. Surely this can no more bring harmony than a tsunami can bring refreshment.

Jesus led a totally indulgent lifestyle too. He completely indulged others, not Himself. As with the extravagant and errant it also cost Him too much.

Indulgence has its own life-claiming addictions -- Jesus' life claiming addiction was you.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him will not persih but have eternal life. (Jn 3:16)
