Soul Snack 51/13 ... God's Word slain
There is a famine of hearing the living Word of God today and therefore a dearth of living it.
God's word is bound, constrained, shackled and then crushed by the manacle of man's thinking, his self-serving Tree of Knowledge inspired theology. (Remember - theology is only trying to think God's thoughts after Him, as science is man explaining God's actions without Him.) God's word has been trimmed to buttress man's poor insights and harnessed to scaffold man's pride of learning.
God's Word is to liberate, it is alive. It holds eternal energy. God's word captivates, comforts, confronts, condemns and counsels. Within man's unholy theology it is bound by degrees and doctorates, it is restrained by context and culture. God's Word has been hammered by history and imprisoned by priests.
God's word has been sacrificed upon a self-indulgent altar and offered to the Tree of Knowledge. It has been pulled, pushed and even weeded. The Bible is now said to contain the Word of God but it is not The Word of God. This Bible slaying compromise aroused by the Tree of Knowledge starves Christ's body to death.
God's word is never to be limited by the paucity of man's intelligence and can no more be contained than the Holy Spirit can be seen; for it is alive.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebs 4:12)
Sit with the Lord, invite His Spirit to speak to your spirit, open the Bible - yep anywhere and dive into the incisive depths it has for you because He still invites ... “Call to ME and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” ~ Jer 33:3
