Extreme Faith

Soul Snack 198/10 ... Extreme Faith

When do the claims of the Cross claim a "Christian"?

How long until the belief of safe dogma and sundry ritual is broadened by a heart that cries liberate me from myself and my indulgences until each moment of each day I am consumed by Him who was smitten for me.

How long until the modern Christian checks his Bible more often than his bank balance?

How long until the modern Christian makes more deposits of devotion than demands of withdrawal upon Jesus?

How long until the modern Christian will count himself lost to this world and found in His Kingdom?

How long until the beat of His heart is to be the wish of my head?

How long until the rationalization of indulgence be truly seen for what it is?

How long until the call from the pulpit will be matched by prayer before the pulpit?

How long until lost people become the seat of discontent, to stir the saints and alight their souls?

How long until bended knees are preferred to toiling hands?

How long until Jesus' call governs my all?

“If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple." (Lk 14:26-27)
