Maturity
Soul Snack 54/10 ... Maturity
From birth to burial the purpose is maturity.
From school to work the purpose is education.
From work to retirement the purpose is advancement.
No infant will deliberately pursue advancement anymore than a child will pursue maturity.
Every healthy father wants to see his child chewing on meat and not simply sipping on milk.
Every healthy father will coach his child to maturity.
So too our Father in heaven. He hankers so strongly to feed His children steak, yet feels so distressed when we only choose milk.
Maturity is His message for all those who follow His Messiah.
Surely maturity arrives as I take steps of faith, as I move into the unseen.
Surely maturity arrives when I trust He who has lifted the sun today to also lift me tomorrow..
"Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God," (Hebs 6:1)
