Impotence

Soul Snack 163/10 ... Impotence

Since no man knows the future who can tell him what is to come.

What man has the ability to secure his future by his living in the present?

Who is the potent man that has the power over his day of reckoning?

Who is the man that snores in the morning and plays in the evening that will see good days?

Who can add a breath to their lungs or a beat to their heart?

Who can conjure a wind and direct its path?

Who is the man who can manage his station in life and guarantee its outcomes?

Who is the man holding the recipe to the elixir of youth?

Yet, such fleeting issues consume the lot of a man's life?

A man is no more able to manipulate his life's exit than his entry.

One thing I know and two things I have heard ... that God is not impotent and He is both just and good.

It is man's end on earth, to but honor God above Himself, admit his impotence and then enjoy God here and forever.

Since no man knows the future,
who can tell him what is to come? No man has power over the wind to contain it ;
so no one has power over the day of his death. (Eccl 8:7-8a)
