Soul Snack 187/10 ... The Boundaries of Love
It is in the search for love that the boundaries of a life are found.
To give and receive love, to care and be cared for, to protect and receive protection- all express the essence of living.
Any absence of these can, even unwittingly, lead a person to these pursuits, any presence of these will be the seed of contentment.
It is in the seeking and searching for love in life that I find I am well made in God's image. His very construction is love and therefore so too mine.
The path through life is always travelled in the direction towards the perceived light called love. As a moth is drawn to light and flowers turn to sunshine, so too is God's image (me or you) attracted to love.
(On this earth there is always an attraction to what looks like love that breaches God's boundaries and there is an invitation to know the love of heaven that never will.)
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. (1 John 4:16a)
