Pennies and power are likely summed up in the single word prosperity.
Well over a century ago, Karl Marx bravely taught that religion is the opiate of the masses, but may I now enjoin that if this was so- prosperity is the aphrodisiac of this day.
The deafening applause that the world pours over prosperity seekers actually drowns out any whispers from heaven into such an impoverished soul. The carnal has captured the body, while the accolades have captured the soul.
Masking the wise way to conduct life is the face of wealth, that promises a false rest and a satisfying pleasure from possessions. The premise of prosperity is as false as its satisfaction is fleeting.
The premise of prosperity is hollow, while the promise of only one Person is heaven.
Heaven is found in a person - not a premise.
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (Jn 14:6)
