Could you pray this prayer:
Father, who looks for your glory and not their own?
Who willingly bows the knee and trembles at your all powerful word?
Who knows you are an all consuming fire and lives accordingly?
Who is jealous for your name above their own?
Who will sacrifice the world's approval for yours?
Who is zealous for righteousness above their rights?
Who seeks humility above honor?
Who makes you their refuge and not their object of rage?
Who chooses to live by faith and not by sight?
Who lifts their heart and bares their soul for you?
Who thirsts for your presence and is anguished in your absence?
Who rides the waves of life and splashes down with you?
Who steers through the corners of potholes looking for the straights ahead with you?
Whose heart is sent before them to you?
O Lord if only all this could be true of me. AMEN
I must raise my heart before I can know my heart.
