Slipped from God's sleeve

Soul Snack 141/13 ... Slipped from God's sleeve

Gardening, singing, cooking and playing cards are (at best) elusive to me.

It is many years since I have played cards yet I recall that if I ever was sufficiently astute to realise I held the trump card - I only might win.

How adept are you at discerning that you have been dealt a good hand? (I trust you have far superior skills to me.)

Satan seeks to trump your life's hand with suffering. He doesn't want you to see the good deck God has dealt you. Satan runs block over your belief in God's gifts and shows you the superior hands of others. His malevolence to you is to obscure God's benevolence for you.

Burdens on earth can so easily eclipse blessings from heaven. Satan attacks those who resist him so Jesus' followers must suffer.

God tucks the best card up His sleeve; He trumps suffering - for from his cuff a thirsty soul is gained.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. (Ps 42:1)

It is usually burdensome to gain a thirsty soul but it is an unspoken pleasure to keep it.
