Soul Snack 89/13 ... The Surprise of Sadness
The children born of bereavement will grow.
None can perceive what God is building in you while you are being torn down.
While you are becalmed God is backing.
While you are broken God is building.
While you are bereaved God is blessing.
While you are barren God is birthing.
Through destruction arrives construction. Rising from the ashes of rejection there is the plume of reproduction. As with tearful Sarah and Hannah God remains busy, indeed furiously at work.
Sarah bore a son that became a nation. Hannah bore a son that raised a kingship. Neither saw their son's achievements.
Sadness is God's conduit of multiplication.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Is 43:19)
It is from the dusty desert within that God births a verdant landscape for your delight and many more.
