We are taught how to behave but not how to think.
The unending war in our lives is waged behind the eyes and between the ears.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Rms 12:2)
Jesus has redeemed us from a sinking way of life, but our thoughts demand to drown us again.
Jesus' team doesn't rescue our thinking just once, but constantly.
Maybe, just maybe - as we taste each small victory within, there is one less rescue mission Jesus' Spirit must mount; there is one more troupe of angels that can enjoy another night 'in'.
we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (2 Cor 10:5b)
Behaving follows thinking.
Christian being must precede Christian doing.
