He's still giving!

Soul Snack 8/218 ... He's still giving!

Ever considered relinquishing your due credit for a job well done to another?

Ever chosen anonymity in preference to glory?

Ancient middle eastern weddings would likely involve almost the entire community. A wedding feast gone sour, would prove most difficult to live with especially for the groom. (Jn 2:1-11)

This wedding in Cana is as much about grace as it is about the miraculous. (I guess grace when properly understood, truly is miraculous as it is really heaven visiting earth.)

Jesus does the never to be repeated impossible - He changes water into wine! There is no fanfare, no public demonstration or invitation to the guests to watch. Obedient servants simply and quietly follow His divine directions.

Ordinary water has become quality wine. The astounded banquet master gives honour to the groom ...

... the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now." Jn 2:9-10

Jesus' grace permits glory that is due to Him to be received by another.

Yet in God's good vision from The Throne all this is observed and justice still received. When glory is generously released God will also graciously return it. (see v11).

My living in grace means, heaven is still giving to me.
