Grace Growth

Soul Snack 8/217 ... Grace Growth

Picture the nearly desperate scene! There is a quiet shouting among the stewards. Condemnation and vitriol pouring across those to blame, but it could still get worse.

These ancient middle eastern weddings last for days, but the wine has run out. (Jn 2:1-11) Embarrassment, even litigation could ensue.

Jesus is at this wedding. No one knew of Him, except a few followers and of course ,His mum.

Mum thinks very highly of her son. She offers his help but ...

"Dear woman, why do you involve me?" Jesus replied, "My time has not yet come" John 2:4

Jesus will however graciously intervene although conscious it is not quite yet His appointed season. Jesus is her gracious son, unwilling to be known but still willing to serve, even if it breaches personal boundaries.

Grace rescues a wedding, it can also rescue lives.

Opportunities abound for grace living. Normally to show another an undeserved mercy would transpire unnoticed.

Grace is above indulgence and selfishness. Grace is not to be hindered by self -restraint.

Grace is hindered by selfishness.

Grace is multiplied by selflessness.
