A tiredness alert!

Soul Snack 9/120 ... A tiredness alert!

Heaven's conquering will mightily crushes the already weary Jesus as He enters Gethsemane.

Surely it is a staggering and most scared Jesus that humbly and helplessly falls to His shaking knees.

Jesus is both acutely alert in the spirit and in anguish of the soul. His body was soon to receive what His soul already had. Bloodied droplets of perspiration seep into his clothing, indicating the depth of His distress. These also stain His knees as they continue to fall unhindered to the ground.

Jesus is still available for the Father's will and not His own. He too knows He needs prayer. His anguish will ensure He is attentive to His Father. Travail does that - it makes us alert to God.

Travail pursues God, tiredness resists Him. Accompanied by his 3 friends, as He is overcome by tribulation, they are overcome by temptation. In tiredness they fall asleep against the request of Jesus.

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter."Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Matt 26:40-41

In tiredness there is little resistance and the path to righteousness is easily released.

Temptation pursues the tired.

Temptation flees the tired who prays.

A tiredness alert is a prayer power provider.

To be alert to my tiredness is a powerful asset for all my devotions.
