Soul Snack 8/154 ... Altitude Attitude - B

Clawing through my present toward my future are pleasures and pains of the past. Both pleasure and pain can be regularly received afresh and rehearsed over and over again. They may mould me, even define me!

1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.  Col 3

Who and what I am is still yet be be totally revealed. Jesus now obscures my life. It is heavenly based now, but still earthly bound. All I am, and I all I have is still unavailable - but with Jesus I sure am not what I have been either! (2 Cor 5:17, Gal 6:15)

As I am now a new person (by following Jesus), there is now a new place for my mind. The safest place for my mind is above. The unhelpful past cannot assault it, nor is it polluted by seductive things of the present, when it is sent before me to heaven. A new person will think on new things.

Many daily and persistent attempts will be made upon my mind. I decide what I permit to enter. I decide what will reside in my mind. My eyes and my emotions are the door to my mind. My heart feeds my mind. What happens in my heart therefore matters much.

God has already raised my spirit. It is now my joyful and hearty co-operation to 'raise my mind.'

Christ has come to capture my heart and not just my hands. A captured heart feeds a mind that both may reside in a safe and protected place. Pollution is unable to penetrate, because these are now elevated to that which is eternally secure.

The place for both my heart and mind is now and always His Perfect Place.
