Bad stories are told of the Bible

The Bible cannot be contained by men. No wonder when mankind chances upon one he flees it.

Unbelievers are constantly spoken of in Scripture. The Bible does not ignore them. Yet, the perennial 'clever' mind or two continues eager to deride it.

First of all be aware of this, scoffers will come in the last days to scoff, living according to their own evil desires. (2 Peter 3:3)

Thomas Paine (1737-1809) breached 'scoffing' by a long way:

The Bible - a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind.

God's Word has been censored/lambasted since Diocletian's 'Edict against the Christians' was published in 303 AD. (This edict included 'their scriptures'.) These deadly edicts were re-written, and re-written through Dark Ages, the Middle Ages continuing to this day by a vast array of governments, councils and churchmen.

The Preacher (Ecclesiastes) is still most accurate (no surprise there) 'there is nothing new under the sun', so too today. It is the most illegal book in history. 'Open Doors' claim there are currently 52 countries that ban God's Word. But, that only makes it stronger.

The Bible:

  • cannot be crushed anymore than water can be compressed
  • is able to withstand all assaults, never bruised
  • is able to outlast all its oppressors, and
  • is warm, stay close to it.

Open the Bible, for its true and good words will anoint your lips with stories of grace. (see Psalm 45:2)
