The House of Mourning

Trapped in the cycle of sadness?

As a magnet to iron filings, God is attracted to the sad - to those who mourn.

His heart, without relent aches each moment of each day for the lost, the least, the last and the lonely.

Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. (Matthew 5:4)

Surely it is a virtue to mourn and not be ensnared by revelry? It is in the house of mourning that little cheer is found that may lead to the sinful excesses of delight.

The heart of the fool is in the house of pleasure... (Ecclesiastes 7:4b)

The house of pleasure is not the wall that surrounds the seats of righteousness, nor does the pursuit of amusement deliver the chief end of man to man.

It is in the morning of the Lord's favor that His oil of gladness will wash away the nights of mourning.

Trust the Father of Comfort to change the mourning into dancing, refuse to permit the masking of pain from within the house of pleasure - for that is the dwelling of fools, the home of those guaranteed to lose.

He is the Father of comfort and will wipe away every tear from their eyes. (Revelation 7:17)
