The Offer of the Soul

Whoever holds the soul, holds the soul's eternity.

The soul of a man is eternal. He owns it. It is his to do with as he pleases.

At death the Lord withdraws His breath once planted in the human body. After death the body decays and returns to the dust from which it was formed. But, the soul enters eternity and 'lives' on.

A man decides where he spends eternity by the authority he lives under each breath-filled day upon earth.

God honors in eternity the decisions a man makes in the flesh.

Self-will and sin keeps a man under the deceitful rule of satan, he rejects the Lord and His righteousness.

Self-death and repentance moves a man under the truthful rule of the Lord, he accepts Him - hungering and thirsting for Divine righteousness.

Would you sing this hymn as a prayer of soul surrender? It is the offer of the soul to He who will prosper it on earth and in heaven, and not punish it forever:

Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days;
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands, and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing,
Always, only, for my King.
Take my lips, and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.

Take my silver and my gold;
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne.

Take my love; my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure-store.
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.
