The Salt of Personal Injury

You are the straw that is crushing my back, the salt that is burning my wounds. ~ anon

Injuries from within relationships persistently burn as salt upon an open wound.

They burn longer should the salt of unforgiveness become multiplied by resentments and bitterness.

Imitate God in forgiving injuries.
‘I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions.’ (Isaiah 44:22)

As the sun scatters not only thin mists, but thick clouds, so God pardons great offences. Imitate Him in this. ‘Forgiving one another.’ (Ephesians 4:32)

He who has God for his Father, will have Him for his pattern. ~ Thomas Watson.

The Lord has cast our sins as far as away as the east is from the west. It is the wise who will repeat this favor. And, likewise at no charge.

This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart. (Matthew 18:35)

It is from that fixed law of heaven and earth, that law of reciprocity I too ensure I receive what I have given.

The unforgiving person is yoked to the past, he is not free to move on in Christ. ~ Neil Anderson

The pain of forgiveness is not enduring. It is far less hurtful than the destruction bitterness delivers.

To forgive is Divine, enjoy the delight of living as God does - imitate Him because He always gets it right.
