UNSHAKEABLE

The prophet Joel explained God's actions to a most difficult Israel. God wanted His grumpy people to understand Him in truth:

Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the Lord your God, for He has given you the autumn rains in righteousness, He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. (Joel 2:23)

Righteousness is always God's motivator to action - let the whole world understand.

But, it is too His measure of any man's action - let the whole world know.

God does not and cannot act unrighteously.

No man may escape His eye for righteousness, nor can a heart be hidden from His righteous gaze.

Mankind has brought an unknown sum of allegations (not rejoicing) before God, shaken his fist to the heavens while completely missing the good Lord's righteous deeds. (This Israel did too.)

We live in an era of outrageous self-importance. ~ Russell Howcroft

Yet, what man can hold God accountable? What man may sit as judge on God? What man can make any claim against God? What man is God indebted to?

God's righteousness is always His acting without prejudice for the well-being of another (that sending of autumn rains). His decisions cannot be polluted by any self-interest. Righteousness springs from the purity of His heart.

Righteousness is suppressed by man's opposing lies of individual rights. The assertion of self is no righteous truth.

God has given men a fine and firm place to stand. It is to stand upon Jesus and His righteousness, not on their rights.

He who stands upon righteousness is divinely protected from the sinking sands, he will not fear, stumble or fall.

... He set my feet upon a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. (Psalm 40:2b)
