The 4 Flaws of Warriors

A wild-fire burns within warriors. This fire is not cleansing but rather a destructive thief.

The warrior within:

  1. robs me of rest. Peace is stolen when mercy is shortened and vengeance is longed for.
  2. is the assertion of self above another. It is the intent to make correct the wrongs done to me - my way. But, Jesus threw no fists from the cross - merely forgiveness.
  3. is the absence of redeeming grace. Yet - long I have warred with God and during this season He has most steadfastly refused to war with me in return. God invites me to reciprocate to my fellow man.
  4. takes refuge in war. The desire and ability to return fire becomes the stronghold, the fortress of defence by offence.

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. (James 3:6)

If God has given you a spirit to war, it is not for your benefit but His - not for your wars but His.

No longer fuel the fires begun by others, ignore their offences and still the tongue. Only then can you return these wars to Him and enjoy the flooding peace which passes all understanding.

Finally His good, perfect and pleasing will for you, what He has truly made you for will shine bright before your eyes.
