COVID-19 & an Archbishop's Mind#

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4)

If we were to shout the words of this verse to our society at the moment, surely they would think we were crazy?

In the face of such overwhelming information on the spread of COVID-19, we may ourselves feel this is not the time for such passages of Scripture.

But it is this very passage which comes to my mind as I dwell upon the best response in this time of crisis.

Remember, the apostle Paul continues on to say:

“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:4-7

Let us not be overwhelmed by the challenges ahead. Let us, with Paul, bring our requests to God, confident in the gift of peace that He gives to His anxious children amidst a frightened world.#
