Interrupted by Grace

Soul Snack 242/14 ... Inhospitable places to humans are the richest soils of eternity.

Jesus was born in a stable and John the Baptist was groomed in the desert.

Into a contemporary religious wasteland (the arid faith of the Pharisees) an infant was born. He would birth a new faith, one with the bread of life and not of deadly weeds.

This new faith would issue righteousness -- grace would replace greed, and love would smother legalism. For from the manger would rise the Messiah.

Sadly the murderous malevolence that surrounded this infant's birth would later consume His adult life.

Thirty-three years on His parched throat would cast words of unheard of grace unto the heavens -

Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." (Luke 23:34)

Misunderstood He died, and mistaken by most He rose again.

From that first Christmas dry Pharasaism was to be watered with the blood of heaven; for in that stable slept He who alone offers living waters and the richest of fare - the Prince of Peace.

"Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters ... and your soul will delight in the richest of fare ..." (Isaiah 53:1-2)

Banked within the Babe of Bethlehem was the wealth of grace, the interruption of religious rules replaced with living, loving relationships.
