Mankind has roundly agreed to despise the afflicted, blame the broken and to hold in contempt those of misfortune, but - these men live at ease.
He who mocks the poor shows contempt for their maker. (Proverbs 17:5a)

God didn't, doesn't and He NEVER will despise the troubled or the torn. Instead, He listens and sees. He does not turn His back:
For He has not despised or scorned
the suffering of the afflicted one;
He has not hidden His face from him
but has listened to his cry for help. (Psalm 22:24)
