Spiritual Superstars
SOUL SNACK 49 .... Spiritual Superstars
All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death or the present or the future all are yours and you are of Christ and Christ is of God. (1 Cor 3:22-23)
Some years ago Hudson Taylor who founded China Inland Mission catapulted to my attention. He is a spiritual giant to my mind, along which such other goliaths as George Mueller and James Fraser. Spiritual superstars stand out to me from time to time. Who is your hero in the Lord? Who is your spiritual superstar?
Yet, I too may be an equal to the superstars. I have what Paul, Apollos, or Cephas also have. That which is accessible to them is also accessible to me. To receive this is to elevate my heart and mind.
My pursuits, my penchants and my pettiness are found to be hollow. Indeed, such a life is inferior for God's superstars. The things of this earth can simply become a detrimental detour.
To understand all I own in the eternal will prevent me from being distracted by owning in the temporal.
Heaven is the destination for my heart. I can send my heart to heaven now. This is what my Jesus longs for. He desires me to give Him my heart because Jesus has already given me His.
