... the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure. (Eccl 7:4b)
Not appreciating its emptiness and not understanding its vanity, the fool continues to seek pleasure while pleasure continues to expire or elude him.
Satisfaction cannot be found in the pursuit of the fleeting. This is the nature of all earthly things.
All things on earth will pass. All that this earth offers will expire. Yet the fool continues to expend energy, devote effort and consume time for what will be lost.
To continue to seek what fails to deliver on its promises is as senseless as waiting for the angry man to show reason.
It is only in the earthly pursuit of the eternal that lasting pleasure will be received on earth. Without such direction I can only ever live in the house of fools.
