The Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil both form and inform each person upon earth's rough hewn face.
Christians have been seduced by the Tree of Knowledge. They have unwittingly pursued its fruit believing that higher learning equates to deeper faith and stronger ministry programs. Correct theology has become the doyen of reason and the touchstone of orthodoxy. Yet the study of theology no more gains spiritual success than ignoring Jesus gains life.
Theology is only ever thinking God's thoughts after Him. Theology is the Tree of Knowledge pretending it can unlock the Tree of Life. (Remember the Tree of Knowledge lies.) No wonder Christians argue, are filled with the pride of learning and ignore the Holy Spirit of Truth; they are eating fruit from the wrong tree. The Tree of Knowledge has successfully created theologians but does not, cannot and will not create disciples.
Unseen the Tree of Knowledge has twisted its fruit and called this faith. Knowledge denies faith. Faith sees mountains moved, storms calmed and the dead raised. Faith sees those in bondage freed, the broken-hearted bound and water walked upon. Knowledge say these miracles don't and can't happen, faith doesn't.
Truth is found only in one person and not in many premises.
2000 years ago Jesus replaced 'law' with 'love' ~ today His Holy Spirit is replacing 'theology' with 'truth'.
... it is the Spirit who testifies because the Spirit is the truth. (1 Jn 5:6b)
