The Pedestal of Love

Foundations are most important. They are equally as important in life as in death.

Once a king dreamt of an enormous, dazzling human statue with a head of gold, chest of silver, thighs of bronze and legs of iron, only to see its feet were of part iron and half-baked clay. (See Daniel 2:31-35). This statue must topple.

The western world flees right and Christian reason, it now has feet of clay. This world ever hankers for more sin, so lunging deeper into a desperate darkness - it crashes.

BUT - the light of One love still shines.

How could someone love another so deeply as to permit them to injure themselves, or worse still continue in the injury?

When 'love' justifies sin, supports indulgence and is the lubricant to wild behavior only pain can result. Sin always does that - it leads to trouble, stumbling and finally destruction.

Same-sex marriage is such an example, for it is not justified by 'love'.

True love will always seek to protect, for it never fails. The lover reaches to the loved one for rescue from harm, even if this hurt is chosen as pleasure.

Love always protects, always hopes, always perseveres and never fails... (1 Corinthians 13:7-8a)

How is harm recognised?

When can a Christian know to extend the arm of rescue, launch the lifeboat or administer an antidote? - When the behavior is sinful.

How is sin decided? It is measured against righteousness. Love is the end result of pursuing righteousness.

Righteousness teaches real love. Sin teaches the shadow - lust.

Where there is righteousness men will love to be the shelters and the satisfiers of others.

The pedestal of love is righteousness, because:

love does not leave you alone in the darkness. ~ anonymous

Love means speaking up for righteousness (turning on the light) while everyone else is hushing 'shhhh' (flicking the light out).
