'Arrested' by faith

Remember the lepers, they were the pariahs of the ancient world?

Now on His way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As He was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met Him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, Jesus, Master, have pity on us! (Luke 17:11-13)

It is these 'fringe-dwellers' who were wise to call upon Jesus, for whoever comes to Me I will never drive away. (John 6:37)

These outcasts are more likely to listen to Jesus, why? They knew very few welcomes elsewhere. And, the 'acceptable' see little need for Jesus. Outcasts would accept grace, He did not bring distaste or disgrace to them.

All ten men were guided by Jesus' instructions, and healed as they headed to the priests. Only one leper, the least acceptable, a Samaritan, returned to Jesus to say 'THANKS'.

NOTE TO SELF: Jesus loves you as you are, not as you should be. ~ Brennan Manning

As with the lepers Jesus' words are equally powerful this day, as strong as when He first said let there be light.

So call out to Jesus in faith and listen for His response, for you too can move from where you are to be where your faith could take you.

ANOTHER NOTE TO SELF: don't forget to say 'thanks' to Jesus.
