CHRISTMAS & the SOUL!

An unusual reflection upon Christmas.

Esau and Jacob are not usually considered relevant to the wonderful pageant of Christmas. 'The brothers grim' would be a far more accurate description. These twins were fighting in Rebecca's womb.

Esau exchanged his future for a 'free' bowl of stew. (See Genesis 25:19-34)

Esau, in an impetuous agreement with his brother, did not value his birthright, so traded his TOMORROW for TODAY.

'Christmas' too invites such foolishness for it offers the credit card and thus debt, which also charges us TOMORROW.

BUT, we each must grasp that Christmas is the brightest pointer to a new, free and perfect world without end. A world not to be ignored or lost, or traded for a trinket or morsel today.

Christmas was never about the redemption of your body but your soul.

... for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your soul. (1 Peter 1:9)

The Last Word:

JESUS WAS BORN BECAUSE MANKIND HAS LITTLE SENSE OF HIS SOUL'S ETERNAL VALUE. JESUS DIDN'T.
