Debunking the Deeds of Darkness

The moral core of planet earth has been eroded to almost extinction, its proper fabric is now shredded.

The world is bent on mowing the fields of immorality and fertilising its deadly paddocks. It happily grazes colorblind upon these brown fields and dry pastures, foolishly believing they are green.

The world has made unspeakable lies its refuge and falsehood its hiding place. It boasts of freedom but chases slavery. It claims I am wise, but has fled light.

The deeds of darkness honor the shameful, and dishonor the righteous.

Mankind holds no way to measure, no rule to reckon good from evil - save what his eyes behold and desire, or what his dark unwholesome imagination conjures.

Men lie with men, God did not create mankind just male and female while gender is now fluid.

Mankind has, does and will continue to suppress the truth by his wickedness, yet too he continues without excuse before God. (Romans 1:18-20)

Planet earth ever sinks in this cesspool of sin, a morass that will claim their eternal lives. The deeds of darkness are fruitless.

Wickedness = darkness, righteousness = light.

The pursuit of darkness is the march to bondage, the honoring of wickedness, the selling of the soul to satan.

BUT:

the fruit of light is goodness, righteousness and truth. (Ephesians 5:10)

So how are Christians to respond to the deeds of darkness?

The deeds of darkness are to be:

  • exposed (Ephesians 5:11)
  • put aside (Romans 13:12) and
  • no source for agreement (2 Corinthians 6:14-16)

Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh. (Romans 13:13-14)

"If I look at the world, I will conform to the ways of the world. If I look at the Word, I will conform to the will of God." ~ A.W. Tozer

The world remains seated to the God of the Cross, but His call upon His own is to now stand.
