Gethsemane did not sneak up on Jesus
“You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of Your hands ... Hebrews 1:10a)
No surprise in Gethsemane - as He wept, pleaded and prayed.

This olive grove was no longer attuned to all things bright and beautiful, much more gravitas there now. Never before had creation so weighed down on its Creator. He remembered all as He wept.
Thin, shaking legs bent in homage were watered by fear. Terror wounded these entangled legs as if to mirror His insides. He who spoke creation into existence is also He who cried out for comfort.
At creation the Creator saw His handiwork fully; it both pleased and saddened, soothed and tortured Him - He even heard His merciful plea cast to His Father from the Cross - forgive them for they know not what they do.
At the very moment Jesus spoke light into the cosmos and the planets were tossed across the skies, He also foresaw His terror and crucifixion ahead. He understood all His lot would be loss, especially to bear it alone - only He carried this terrible rescue. He heard the bellow He had not yet released to His Father ... you have forsaken Me, why?
Jesus then speaks to Himself a poultice ... I saw the pain of wickedness, but I felt the goodness of joy, because both comes from My righteous love and love of righteousness.
But of the Son He says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has set You above Your companions by anointing You with oil of joy. (Hebrews 1:8)
