DELIGHTS!
What have been your greatest delights?
What delights do you still yearn for? Maybe your 'bucket list' captures these unfulfilled aspirations thoroughly?
Three items of delight to God are:
- But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams?" (1 Samuel 15:22)
- The Lord delights in the well-being of His servant. (Psalm 35:22)
- His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor His delight in the legs of the warrior; the Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love. (Psalm 147:10-11)
Delights are a yearning and joy of all mankind. This is no surprise, after all - mankind bears God's image. Man in countless ways (although he is fallen) still mirrors God, and seeks delights.
Place all your hope in God's unfailing love at the top of your bucket list, pursue this, and then He will look after the rest.
I am counting every blessing, letting go and trusting even when I cannot see.
