The Master of Deceit

'The world belongs to God and He wants it back.' ~ David Pawson
Does Halloween continue to gain momentum? Is it waxing or waning?
I am advised (by opinion) 'kids are lazier these days', while I wonder if 'stranger danger' is a real threat to this American festival of darkness? Maybe the measure of Halloween is the number of children 'trick or treating'?
We do know Halloween is spreading its slimy shadow across commercialism. Methinks, while ever mankind can withdraw an extra 'buck' it will continue.
Yet, Halloween has the darkest of origins, and is not to be honored. It is 'dark' masquerading as 'light', 'death' masquerading as 'life'. Halloween is deceit, and who is the great deceiver?
So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the devil and satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:9)
It is a Christian's leading to exercise spiritual discernment, that skill sharpened by the dividing of good from evil. AND, especially at this brief season that worships 'night' - does not the dark conceal the evil?
Halloween is the world ignoring Christ to celebrate satan, offering satan blind honor - thus,
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)
Through the poverty of spiritual acumen even Christians have bought satan's lies as wholeheartedly as the world.
The Master of Deceit has placed another yoke upon the shoulders of mankind, another burden to oppress.
At Halloween the Lord of Light is slighted while the prince of darkness is celebrated. Do not be deceived - the evil one is actively seeking only worship of himself.
Events of October 31 each year beckon all Christians to remember:
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. (Ephesians 5:8)
