This year must find its own peace!

In the wake of the Bondi Beach attack, Sydney's New Year's celebration showcased an unshakeable unity for 2026 when terrorism sought the opposite. Handshakes gripped between strangers, hugs held with neighbors and hatred pushed aside.

Anticipation for betterment lays before the New Year's Gate

The New Year arrives with goodwill, but also uncertainties and 'blessed' lingering fears - both these thieve rest.

Stirring our souls and teasing our minds in the 2025 news were:

Trump's tariffs, the 12 day war, Gaza, and the now ubiquitous and consuming AI presence ... and so much more.

Is there ever a point that New Year can be felt comfortable, without threat or anxiety? It is the destiny of all men to face a future that can never be known until it is met.

How do you wish to recall 2025, how do you want to live in 2026? Do you seek the new? Maybe there is the wistful casting of your eyes rearwards, to simpler, safer and happier days?

Passed seasons can no more be recaptured than man can stay forever young.

Today must find its own peace.

There is no progress in rearward steps.

Carlos Santana observed:

You learn that you can have fear or trust, but you cannot have both.

The good God of creation continues to create. He makes new years, new futures, pours new wine and introduces new people. Seek God!

Faith is fear that just keeps saying its prayers.

They sought God eagerly, and He was found by them. So the Lord gave them rest on every side. (2 Chronicles 15:15b)
