The Lake of Forgetfulness
The loving and merciful God, abundant in grace, has one trait the wise will follow - FORGETFULNESS!
I imagine an endless lake. It is signposted The Lake of Forgetfulness. It is in this lake the good Lord throws all records of our sin, for those humbly fallen at the feet of Jesus in repentance. Along this vast shore He places smaller signs - many, many of them. They circle the lake's shoreline. Boldly printed for all to see is the Divine command - No Fishing!
There is no indebtedness, and no possibility of retrieving your sins.
The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:1)
