Need A Top-Up?#

Sometimes we can give so much of ourselves we need a top-up.

Recently I felt in desperate need of a break, that thirst to be somewhere different, and only in God's presence.

I longed for His refreshment to flow over me, the settling of His whelming love to just let my mind rest.

I prayed for a chance to refill my half-full glass. With a caress of divine care my Lord soon answered.

God brought me the opportunity (via some friends) for a farm-stay in the remote tropical highlands of Morobe province, Papua New Guinea.

Paradise is where God lives, so He must live here.

The mountains were enveloped with a light mist. It wafted to the lush valleys below.

Here I dwelt, surrounded by love and filled by peace in a 'new eden'. Eden could hardly be more beautiful, more splendid, more full of such a staggering love.

The tail end of monsoon storms flashed lightning across the skies each evening, as rain cleansed the mountainsides.

Flowers I have never seen lit up this eden, watercourses stroked the slopes, and sometimes fluffy white clouds filled the valleys obscuring all but the mountain peaks.

How could anyone see such immense awe and not feel God Himself in this wonderland?

Yes, God came near and my cup overflowed.

You anoint my head with oil and my cup overflows. (Psalm 23:7b)

God was with me on that mountain. Nothing can defeat His love and protection that He gives so freely, and without finding fault. Nothing can draw me from His side.

He reminded me too that His promises remain as sure as tomorrow, for a stunning rainbow formed a bridge one day through drizzle across my valley vista.#

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)
