New Year, Old Pilgrimage#

The year we now possess is likely to be a year of hills and valleys. Isn't this just life's normal course as we gaze forward into the unknown?

Who knows what we will find? It maybe a land flowing with milk and honey, a city with streets paved in gold or a cave on a barren Patmos.

What new experiences or chances may come our way?

Despite the uncertainty before our eyes, we have a cheerful and comforting word from our heavenly Father:

for the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. (2 Chronicles 16:9a)

The Lord is to be the source of our supply. In Him there is an abundance of springs, fountains and streams that never will be cut off or run dry.

Blessed are those whose strength is in You, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. (Psalm 84:5)

The Last Word:

Fireworks announce the year is new, and the wall calendar agrees. But, the believer's heart stays set on pilgrimage. God equips him very well.
