Hitting Jesus' targets!

\
While they ate, He washed their feet.
While He washed those feet, He honored His traitor.
While He wept, His disciples slept.
While He died, they fled.
At the heart of the Messiah was the heart of humility. Held firmly in His mind was privation. Rolled together with anonymity, self-denial becomes the shadow of their Savior.
Principles to recognize Jesus' own targets:
- the art of 'looking up' when you're 'falling down'
- that your 'rights' are at best the servant to your 'duties'
- taking care to be faithful without seeking approval
- those who desire to serve must produce 'fruit', but note Jesus is the 'fruit' inspector.
Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do? So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty. (Luke 17:9-10)
Failure to hit the bull's eye is never the fault of the target. ~ Gilbert Arland
