Pitfalls of Providing for the Flesh

Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:8)
The story of the Christian life is a simple and miraculous one!
It is also simple to fall and fail. Redemption becomes 'torturous', shame abounds.
As I tap away (no sparks flying here) I recalled 'greatest' recent gospel leaders who failed, and failed 'big time'. Such men were thinking in their loins (often) rather than on the Lord. Their carnage remains.
How can I know if I am travelling well to stay well? As accurate as a 'spirit level' are these following items.
- STAND ON THE TRUTH
There exists only one way. only one truth and only one life.
Steadfast, immovable, and without change is Jesus' truth.
Do not 'ease off' with compromise.
- LIVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE
Make no provision for the flesh, for the pursuit of gold, gals/guys or glory change your trajectories. And, your futures.
Daily we are to be the 'blessed ones', shining a light. ... let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and give praise to your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)
- WATCH AND PRAY
Remain alert to the touch of the Lord that you may not be deceived. The normalization of sin is a foundation strategy of spiritual deception.
Sleeping and rising should be covered by the canopy of prayer.
Be vigilant, make no choice or provision to dally away from the Lord.
Do not get caught - distracted by rumors of wars, falls and rises in the stock market, by controversies or 'old wives' tales. They distract and confuse. Let your 'YES' be 'YES' and your 'NO' be 'NO' ... not double minded.
- REMAIN TEACHABLE
Pride comes prior to a fall. I wonder if these three Christian leaders (see below) fell, because they believed they couldn't!
Remember - humility is becoming what you have despised only to realize you were wrong.
- HIDDEN IN CHRIST
At all times pursue the faith giver not just His faith.

Philip Yancey - 2026
Ravi Zacharias. - 2017
PS - The bigger the person, the harder the fall.
