“For God did not send His Son into the world, to condemn the world, but to save the world the world through Him." (Jn 3:17)
Ever made a judgement that hurt another?
Ever hurt someone you loved?
Ever felt like you have done an unforgiveable sin?
Ever been convicted of the depth of your own sinfulness?
The selfishness of sin can truly sear another. My self-interests linger too long, even in a forgiven soul.
Self interest simply insulates me against another's best interests. Pursuing self interest (sin) can also clear a trail to future pain. It is spiritually healthy to see my sin. It is even healthier to recognize how I have hurt another.
Yet consciousness of sin blazes a trail too, one of shame! A shame that will not shift. My spirit screams ‘grace' please! Yet it receives only condemnation. This is the work of the evil one.
Jesus presence in my life is that I may live without shame. He has come to take my condemnation from me. All thanks to Jesus who is my condemnation clearer!
Jesus will never be as harsh on me as I will.
