(Improvised Explosive Devices (I.E.D) continue to catapult carnage across the allies in Afghanistan. Secretly hidden, lethally armed and deadly successful, these unseen weapons of war are the device of choice in Afghanistan.)
Gauging each footstep with a life-preserving care, the progress of this foot-soldier was slow but safe.
Unknown, enemy-infested countryside captured his already heightened senses. Alert to the possibility of snipers and IEDs, he was determined to minimize his risk exposure. As carefully hidden as the enemy was, so too was it perfectly ready to assault.
Heavily burdened, with a belt of defence and a back bent with provision, his movements were precisely deliberate. At least he knew his shrouded body of camouflage was an impediment to this enemy, as he continued his reconnaissance.
Those Christians who are deep, wise and even dutiful will understand that they too face a daily enemy that seeks to devour. His attacks can be deadly, they are not seen coming and he has IEDs buried for all those who would call Jesus Lord.
Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. (Rev 12:17)
The invisible infestation of satan's IEDs upon the countryside that you walk are often triggered and revealed in angry judgements and accusations against you. Unseen, they tear the flesh of the soul and wound the spirit within. They cause Christians to flee.
Satan has an IED or two for you again today, but Jesus knows where it is. Walk with Jesus, in safety, on His path of righteousness because satan has never been there.
