Repeat or Release?

Soul Snack 8/136 ... Repeat or Release?

In 1868 Horatio Palmer penned the timeless inspiration, "Yield not to temptation"

"Yield not to temptation for yielding is sin,
Each victory will help you one other to win ...
Christ will carry you through..."

The conduit of desires, the path to meeting my needs, is always so readily available through the pursuit of sin.

The pursuit of sin brings me pleasure. (There would be no sinners if sin was not enjoyable!)

I can justify my sin, and sear my guilt.

I persist in sin for I desire it as much as it desires me.

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it. Gen 4:7

It is always my choice to repeat my sin, or release my sin. The more I repeat my sin, the greater the strength I give it over me. The foothold for evil in me becomes firmer.

... and do not give the devil a foothold. Eph 4:27

Unrepented sin is sin repeated.

Sin refused, is sin released.

It is always my call: repetition or release?

I too can place my sins behind my back.(Remember - God already has. see Is 38:17)

"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Matt 26:41
